Levante have suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Melilla in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fourth-round tie.
The hosts, who occupy the third tier of Spanish football, made the breakthrough seven minutes before half-time when Eliseo Velasco converted from the penalty spot.
However, their night was tainted when Carlos David Moreno Hernandez picked up his second yellow card of the match with 20 minutes left to play.
The two sides meet again for the second leg at the Ciutat de Valencia on November 28.
