Leyton Orient have recorded a slender 1-0 half-time lead over Preston North End at Deepdale this afternoon.
Orient started the encounter on the front foot and would have taken an early lead if not for the intervention of goalkeeper Declan Rudd, who denied Mathieu Baudry with a smart save in the opening exchanges.
Simon Grayson's men slowly but steadily grew into the match and forged their first sight of goal, with Craig Davies seeing his bid to open the scoring rebuffed by keeper Eldin Jakupovic.
However, Baudry atoned for his earlier miss by firing the Londoners ahead, smashing home Kevin Lisbie's knock-down header to give Russell Slade's charges a narrow advantage at the break in their League One clash.
