Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy has reportedly agreed to join Premier League outfit Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old came close to joining the Magpies in the summer, but failure to agree a transfer figure with the French club scuppered a move.
However, according to Sky Sports News, a figure of £5.5m has now been agreed between the two clubs and the Frenchman will join Newcastle when the transfer window opens next week.
Real Madrid and Barcelona had also been linked with moves for the right-back, but the French influence at Newcastle is understood to have convinced Debuchy to join the club.
