Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Porto

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League clash with Porto on Tuesday.
Sports Mole

Liverpool will be aiming to make it back-to-back wins to start the 2021-22 Champions League when they make the journey to Porto on Tuesday evening.

Jurgen Klopp's side came out on top in a five-goal classic with AC Milan during their opening clash two weeks ago, with Jordan Henderson bagging the all-important winner in a 3-2 success.

The Reds enter this game on the back of a six-goal thriller with Brentford in the Premier League, but they threw away the lead twice in a 3-3 draw against the newly-promoted side.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 16 (vs. Watford)

Thiago Alcantara was forced off with a calf problem in the win over Crystal Palace earlier this month, and Klopp does not expect the Spaniard to return before the international break.

Harvey Elliott

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Harvey Elliott has begun the long road to recovery from ankle surgery and is expected to remain out of action for the next six months.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: October 3 (vs. Manchester City)

Naby Keita was withdrawn with an ankle problem at half time against Norwich City in the EFL Cup and is not expected to feature in midweek, but he may be ready for the upcoming Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Neco Williams

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 28 (vs. Porto)

Klopp has confirmed that Neco Williams is "progressing well" in his recovery from an ankle injury, but the right-back was not involved against Brentford and remains doubtful for the trip to Porto.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
