Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that defender Joe Gomez could make a return from injury in time to make the squad for the Champions League trip to Porto.
Gomez has made 25 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season, but the 20-year-old was forced to sit out the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend due to a knee injury.
However, while ruling Gomez out of the visit to Southampton, Klopp has suggested that the England international could be back in contention for the clash with Porto on Wednesday night.
At a press conference, the 50-year-old told reporters: "He's outside but not with the team. No chance for Sunday. But a chance for Porto."
Klopp has praised the performances of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has largely played second fiddle to Gomez during the current campaign.
