Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has admitted that he must make the most of every opportunity he receives to feature in the first team.
Ahead of Tuesday's Champions League encounter against Spartak Moscow, manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Karius will replace number one Simon Mignolet between the sticks.
Klopp has also acknowledged that Karius will remain his deputy, but the German stopper is happy to try to impress his boss when given a chance in the starting lineup.
The 24-year-old told reporters: "There is a lot of competition. At a great club like this, there is competition for every spot.
"When I get to play, it is a chance to prove himself to the manager and show I am ready."
Karius will be making his 19th appearance for Liverpool since signing from Mainz 05 last summer.
