Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's EFL Cup fixtures, including West Ham United vs. Manchester City.

West Ham vs. Man City (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Perennial EFL Cup champions Manchester City will continue their quest for an unprecedented fifth straight triumph in the competition when they take on West Ham United in the last 16 at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

The holders have not been knocked out of the competition since October 2016 - five years ago - but face a West Ham side that claimed the scalp of Manchester United in the last round.

We say: West Ham United 1-2 Manchester City

West Ham have what it takes to end what is sure to be a weakened Man City's dominance in this competition, and a home win on Wednesday would not be a massive surprise if Guardiola does indeed ring the changes.

However, it is difficult to back against Man City in the EFL Cup given their record in recent years, and even a second-string side have enough quality throughout to see off Premier League opposition.

It could be a close one, and could even go to extra time, but when all is said and done we expect Man City's run in the League Cup to still be intact.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Leicester vs. Brighton (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Leicester City play host to Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Cup fourth round looking to extend their winning streak in all competitions to four matches.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls make the trip to the King Power Stadium eager to get back on track after losing momentum since the start of the season.

We say: Leicester City 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

As we have seen in the past, Potter has selected an unfamiliar side in this competition, and that should only lead to an easier evening for Leicester. While Rodgers will also make alterations, his second-string should have enough firepower to help the club breeze into the last eight.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Burnley vs. Spurs (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur will both aim to push their Premier League struggles to one side when they face off in the last-16 of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The Clarets have overcome Newcastle United and Rochdale to get this far, while Nuno Espirito Santo's side knocked out Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties.

We say: Burnley 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Neither Burnley nor Spurs have displayed any sort of a winning mentality on a consistent basis this season, and the Turf Moor faithful have every right to believe that an upset could be on the cards.

However, Santo ought to view this contest as the ideal opportunity to claim a confidence-boosting win - and keep any fleeting hopes of ending the trophy drought going - so we think Tottenham will do enough to pull through and prolong Burnley's misery on home soil.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Preston vs. Liverpool (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

With their supporters still revelling in a once-in-a-lifetime humiliation of arch-rivals Manchester United, Liverpool's players must quickly refocus ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup last-16 match against Preston North End at Deepdale.

The visitors will be firm favourites for the first ever League Cup meeting between the two sides, but Preston will be hoping for a hangover of sorts following Liverpool's five-star showing at Old Trafford.

We say: Preston North End 0-3 Liverpool

The cup history between these two sides is split at one apiece - Preston's victory coming in 1961-62 and Liverpool's in 2008-09, but in the present day it is difficult to see anything other than a routine Liverpool win.

The Reds XI is likely to be very different to the one which swept Man United aside, but they still have the strength in depth to comfortably see off a Preston team in pretty poor form in the Championship.

Given how many goals Liverpool are scoring away from home at the moment, we can see them continuing their remarkable run of netting three or more times on the road.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Stoke vs. Brentford (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Brentford will look to continue their strong start to the season when they face Stoke City in the EFL Cup fourth round on Wednesday evening.

However, like their hosts, the Bees head into the contest at the bet365 Stadium having lost their last two matches in the league.

We say: Stoke City 1-2 Brentford

Both teams will make sweeping changes to their starting lineups, and it should help the chances of a competitive game occurring in the Potteries. While we would not be surprised if this fixture goes to penalties, we are backing the visitors to prevail by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
