James Milner has paid tribute to Philippe Coutinho's "magic" after the Liverpool ace helped see off Manchester United in Europa League action on Thursday night.
The Reds reached the quarter-finals after drawing 1-1 at Old Trafford, with Coutinho's delicate chip over David de Gea cancelling out an Anthony Martial penalty.
It was an away goal that ensured the Red Devils needed to score three more to progress, after Liverpool won the first leg 2-0, and Milner is delighted with the result.
"Both teams had chances, we didn't play as well as we did in the first leg but we did enough. Their goalkeeper had a good game and made some saves," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"Philippe Coutinho is a great player and is only going to get better. You need that bit of magic sometimes."
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could potentially meet his old club Borussia Dortmund in the last eight after the Germans thumped Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on aggregate.
