Liverpool kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw away at Bordeaux this evening.

The Reds took the lead through Adam Lallana's strike shortly after the hour mark, before Jussie came off the bench to rescue a share of the spoils for his side.

A lively end to the match saw both teams create further half-chances, but in the end a point apiece was the right outcome.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at who impressed during the Group B meeting at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

BORDEAUX

Goal

Cedric Carrasso: Liverpool had six shots on goal across the 90 minutes, but far too many of these attempts lacked any sort of precision. Had little chance of keeping out Lallana's fine solo effort. (7/10)

Defence

Milan Gajic: Looked good on the ball when trying to get into advanced positions. Had little to do in terms of defensive work down his flank. (6/10)

Pablo: Lallana got beyond him far too easy for the breakthrough goal, though he did deny the same player with a decent tackle at the end of the first half. (6/10)

Nicolas Pallois: Had to produce a few tackles to halt the opposition, standing firm for large parts only to be denied by one piece of quality play from Liverpool's midfield man. (7/10)

Maxime Poundje: The player tasked with keeping Ibe quiet, which he did very well on the whole. That said, he did bring the youngster down inside the area, which on another day could have been given as a penalty. (7/10)

Midfield

Nicolas Maurice-Belay: One of the home side's more livelier players, regularly getting on the ball and providing a couple of decent openings for his teammates. (8/10)

Clement Chantome: Sat deep and helped to break up attacks, earning himself a deserved yellow card when taking out young opponent Rossiter inside the opening 45 minutes. (7/10)

Wahbi Khazri: Liverpool struggled to deal with one of his runs, while he also tested the Reds' No.1 on two separate occasions. Surprisingly replaced in the final quarter of the match. (7/10)

Henri Saivet: Another of those who repeatedly got himself into promising positions but, while he did manage to get away a couple of shots, neither of them had any sort of precision to get the better of Mignolet. (7/10)

Attack

Enzo Crivelli: His hooked volley provided Bordeaux with arguably their best moment of the first half, and it was the forward who instigated the move which led to Jussie's equaliser. (8/10)

Diego Rolan: Fluffed his lines with the game's first chance inside the opening 10 minutes, which proved to be just about as good as things got in terms of clear-cut openings. (6/10)

Substitutes

Andre Biyogo Poko: Brought on for the final 15 minutes, but did not make any real difference. (5/10)

Jussie: Proved to be the saviour for the hosts, finding himself in the right place at the right time to score his first of the season. (8/10)

Frederic Guilbert: Introduced with the scores all level late on, helping to see things through. (5/10)

LIVERPOOL

Goal

Simon Mignolet: No clean sheet for the Belgian on his 100th Liverpool appearance, being given little chance to keep out Jussie's shot but otherwise standing firm between the sticks. (7/10)

Defence

Joe Gomez: Would have been looking to make a point after conceding a penalty at Old Trafford last weekend. Impressed when on the ball and looked steady throughout. (7/10)

Kolo Toure: Not the greatest of shifts for the experienced defender, on what was his first Reds appearance since the thrashing at Stoke City in May. Picked up an early yellow, almost cost his side when failing to hear Mignolet's shout, then left the field through injury. (5/10)

Mamadou Sakho: Very assured display in the heart of defence from a man who is surely now in line to start regularly in the Premier League. Captained the side and was a standout performer. (8/10)

Alberto Moreno: Another of those who took his chance, offering Rodgers a selection headache of sorts at the back. Grew into things and bagged himself an assist for Lallana's goal. (7/10)

Midfield

Jordon Ibe: An underwhelming display from the winger, whose defensive frailties almost cost Liverpool early on. Needs to step up his performances if he is to nail down a regular starting spot at Anfield. (5/10)

Emre Can: Looked very assured in midfield, completing 100% of his passes before dropping into defence when Toure went off injured. (7/10)

Philippe Coutinho: The one Liverpool player who always looks like he can make a difference, Coutinho came so close to opening the scoring when striking the post on the 45-minute mark. Still feel he had more to offer in an attacking sense, though. (6/10)

Jordan Rossiter: Looked shaky at times but very assured at other points. When on the ball and feeling confident, he looked more like a 30-year-old pro rather than a player looking to break into the ranks. (7/10)

Adam Lallana: Managed to pull off five successful tackles in the middle of the park, while also dribbling past an opponent three times. His performance was capped by the fine individual strike, though, which shows that he is a top-class talent when fully fit. (8/10)

Attack

Divock Origi: It is now five games without a goal against Bordeaux for Origi, who yet again flattered to deceive. Only once got in behind the backline, only to drag his shot well wide before the offside flag was eventually raised. (5/10)

Substitutes

Cameron Brannagan: Brought on moments before Bordeaux levelled things up, replacing fellow young prospect Rossiter who was struggling with cramp. (6/10)

Pedro Chirivella: A first senior appearance for the club, which came earlier than planned thanks to Toure's injury. Did well enough throughout, but Liverpool defence fell apart for Les Girondins' goal. (7/10)

Danny Ings: Desperate to prove himself to Brendan Rodgers, very nearly doing exactly that when taking down a long ball and coming within a Carrasso save of opening his European account, just 60 second after being introduced. (7/10)
