Jordon Ibe's first goal for Liverpool has handed the Reds their first Europa League win of the campaign as they edged past Rubin Kazan with a 1-0 victory.
Jurgen Klopp's side started brightly and James Milner rattled the bar after collecting Roberto Firmino's through-ball before Christian Benteke blasted a 20-yard effort wide.
Firmino again raced through in the 18th minute, but sliced his shot wide of the near post under pressure.
The Reds struggled to break down a resolute Rubin side as the first half wore on, but on the stroke of half time Sergej Ryzikov had to bat away Ibe's deflected strike before scrambling to his feet to claw the bouncing ball away to safety.
Alberto Moreno connected with a deep Nathaniel Clyne cross seconds after the interval, but the Spaniard's shot ricocheted into the side-netting.
However, Liverpool finally broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Ibe stroked home his first goal for the club from the edge of the box.
Milner then forced Ryzikov to tip a venomous strike over the bar before the goalkeeper kept hold of efforts from Dejan Lovren and Emre Can.
Ibe forced Ryzikov into another save with his feet before Benteke sent a weak overhead kick at the goalkeeper as Liverpool continued to dominate.
A Lovren foul 25 yards from goal gave Rubin a chance to test Simon Mignolet, but Ruslan Kambolov blasted the aimless free kick high over the bar.
The hosts didn't trouble Liverpool in the latter stages as Klopp's side saw out the final few minutes to move onto six points in Group B.
