Liverpool's hopes of qualifying from their their Europa League group hang in the balance following a 2-2 draw with Young Boys this evening.

A late goal from Elsad Zverotic has given Young Boys a 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield this evening.

The hosts had the first chance of the match when Jonjo Shelvey flicked the ball on to Jordan Henderson, but the England international could only shoot tamely at Marco Wolfli.

The Reds took the lead soon after, however, as Suso combined with Joe Cole before the latter sent in a cross that Shelvey nodded home from close range.

Cole almost created a second for his side just before half-time as he slid a ball through to Suso, but the youngster could not direct his shot on target.

These roles were reversed six minutes after the restart as Suso sent Cole through, but the former England man couldn't find a way past Wolfli.

Liverpool were punished for this miss immediately as Young Boys broke through Alex Farnerud, who crossed it to Raul Bobadilla, allowing the Argentine to take the ball down on his knee and smash it past Jose Reina from a tight angle.

The hosts were soon back in front, however, as subs Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard combined to set up Cole, who put his shot through Wolfli's legs.

Young Boys came back once more, however, and netted the equaliser in the 87th minute as Zverotic's venomous strike was too powerful for Reina.

The result means that both sides are stuck on seven points with one game to play.
