Half-Time Report: Bolton Wanderers frustrate Liverpool in goalless first half

Liverpool are frustrated by an organised Bolton Wanderers side as they enter the half-time break of their FA Cup fourth-round tie with the score still 0-0.

Bolton Wanderers have put in a spirited first-half display against Liverpool in an FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield which is locked at 0-0.

The visitors forced a couple of corners in the opening 10 minutes and Liverpool struggled to deal with the set pieces before eventually hacking them to safety.

Jordan Henderson cracked a 30-yard volley towards goal with his left foot in the 12th minute, but Adam Bogdan dived to his right to deny the Liverpool captain.

The Reds found joy on the left flank and two cynical challenges saw Matt Mills and Josh Vela both pick up yellow cards.

Philippe Coutinho fired a low shot towards goal which Bogdan dealt with comfortably before Mills made a crucial block to deny an advancing Raheem Sterling as Liverpool grew in confidence.

Ten minutes before the break, Dean Moxey fired a ferocious half volley towards goal which swerved just wide of Simon Mignolet's right-hand post.

A few moments later, Adam Lallana had a chance to shoot, but he could not force the ball goalwards from Javier Manquillo's header, before Glen Johnson sent a volley into the hands of Bogdan.

Lallana did fire a shot goalwards in the 37th minute, but Bogdan held onto the ball with ease as Liverpool struggled to break down their Championship opponents.
