Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Harvey Elliott will make his return to the matchday squad for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round battle with Cardiff City.
The former Fulham starlet has not taken to the field since his horrific ankle injury against Leeds United in September but has made excellent strides in his recovery.
Elliott is now back in full team training for the Reds, and Klopp has revealed that the 18-year-old is in with a chance of making his comeback at Anfield this weekend.
"Harvey did pretty much everything we told him to do without question. He's in a good place. Full team training. We will see what is right for him but he will definitely be in the squad for the Cardiff game," Klopp told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
However, the Liverpool boss hinted that new signing Luis Diaz will not be making his debut against Cardiff, with the Colombia international yet to train since returning from international duty.
Elliott featured in all four of Liverpool's opening Premier League games of the 2021-22 season before his injury - playing the full 90 minutes in two of them.
