Luis Diaz makes the bench for Liverpool's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Cardiff City at Anfield.

New Liverpool signing Luis Diaz has made the bench for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round tie with Cardiff City.

The ex-Porto man arrived at Liverpool's AXA complex earlier this week, but Jurgen Klopp hinted that the Colombian would not be involved due to his lack of preparation and return from international duty.

However, Diaz has been deemed well enough for a spot on the bench at Anfield, as Roberto Firmino leads the line with support from Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota.

Caoimhin Kelleher earns an expected start in goal, while Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas are also drafted into the backline alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Naby Keita also returns to the first XI after the Africa Cup of Nations, with Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones completing the engine room for the Reds.

Harvey Elliott has also made his return to the matchday squad after nearly five months out with an ankle injury, but Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain miss out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Liverpool starting lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Henderson, Keita, Jones; Minamino, Jota, Firmino

Subs: Adrian, Thiago, Milner, Diaz, Robertson, Matip, Gordon, Elliott, Morton body check tags ::
