Liverpool and HJK Helsinki have both failed to find the net during the first half of their pre-season friendly in Finland.
The visitors created the first chance of the game with just three minutes on the clock when Jordan Henderson forced a save from goalkeeper Daniel Orlund.
However, it was Helsinki who should have taken the lead a few minutes later as Usman Jallow planted his header over the crossbar from close range.
Liverpool started to control the match after that, and they came close to breaking the deadlock on 16 minutes when Philippe Coutinho blasted the ball over following a swift counter-attack.
Orlund was tested again soon after by an effort from Danny Ings, while the striker glanced a header wide on 27 minutes.
The Reds failed to make their dominance count during the remainder of the half, with James Milner aiming a shot at Orlund before a poor touch from Ings saw a promising attacking move break down.
