Liverpool find themselves back leading the way in the Premier League standings ahead of Saturday's showdown with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Jurgen Klopp's side beat Tottenham Hotspur in their top-of-the-table tussle on Wednesday night to move three points clear of their opponents at the summit, but travel to South-East London without an away league win for almost three months.
The contest will also see another quick Wednesday to Saturday lunchtime turnaround in fixtures, which drew the ire of Klopp earlier this season after he lost more players to an already-packed injury list.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news.
Status: Minor doubt

Possible return date: December 19 (vs. Crystal Palace)
Liverpool were left without a recognised senior centre-back against Spurs, with Joel Matip missing out after being withdrawn at half time of last weekend's draw with Fulham due to back spasms. However, he has since returned to training with the first team and should be back available this weekend.

Liverpool's first-choice centre-back Virgil van Dijk remains sidelined for a lot longer, though. Klopp offered a positive update on the Dutchman's recovery recently, but it is still unlikely that he will play again this season.

Joe Gomez holds higher hopes than Van Dijk of playing again in 2020-21, but his return is still months away after suffering a serious knee injury while away on international duty with England.
Diogo Jota

The injury sustained by Diogo Jota in Liverpool's final group game against FC Midtjylland has turned out to be much more serious that first thought and could keep the summer signing out for up to two months.

A certain degree of mystery surrounds Xherdan Shaqiri's latest injury setback, with the Switzerland international having not been seen since the last international break. A scan revealed an injury upon his return to Liverpool, and there is no clue yet as to when he might return.

Liverpool's last Wednesday night to Saturday lunchtime turnaround saw Klopp blame the scheduling for the injury suffered by James Milner in that latter game, and the veteran utility man remains sidelined with the same hamstring problem.

Thiago Alcantara's absence has proven to be far longer than initially expected, with the big-name summer signing having not featured since the Merseyside derby in October. The Spain international has played just twice for Liverpool so far, and Saturday's game will be the 15th in a row that he has missed, although there was a positive update on his fitness as he returned to training on grass on Thursday.

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 6 (vs. Manchester City)
Kostas Tsimikas makes it a full house of Liverpool's summer signings who are currently unavailable due to injury and, like Jota, he is set for up to two months on the sidelines with a knee problem he sustained in their final Champions League group game.
