Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liverpool's injuries continue to mount up ahead of Sunday's home meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The Reds beat Ajax 1-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday to guarantee top spot in Group D, but Andrew Robertson and Jordan Henderson both picked up knocks.

However, Klopp confirmed after the game that the injuries sustained by both players are not serious and they are in contention to face Wolves.

Alisson Becker was also ruled out of the game with a hamstring strain, though, and he will now miss around two weeks' action.

As Liverpool attempt to return to winning ways in the top flight against Wolves this weekend, Sports Mole rounds up the Reds' latest injury and suspension news.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Liverpool's snowball of injury problems began with Virgil van Dijk in the Merseyside derby and the Dutchman is set to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Naby Keita

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 6 (vs. Wolves)

Naby Keita joined the injury list during the recent win over Leicester City and, while the extent of his hamstring injury is yet to be confirmed, he is almost certain to miss a fourth consecutive match on Sunday.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury Thiago Alcantara sustained in the Merseyside derby was initially thought to not be too serious. However, he has not featured since and Klopp confirmed last week that he is in a race against time to be fit again before Christmas.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Utility man James Milner suffered a hamstring injury against Brighton & Hove Albion last Saturday, sparking a remarkable row between Klopp and his post-match interviewer over the role broadcasters play in player welfare.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez is expected to miss most of the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury while away on international duty with England last month. No timescale has been put on his return.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 9 (vs. Midtjylland)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not far away from a first appearance of the season as he continues to battle back from a knee injury, but Klopp has suggested that he will not be back in time for Sunday's game against Wolves.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: December 9 (vs. Midtjylland)

Trent Alexander-Arnold is also not far away from returning from his calf injury, but this match may come too soon for him. Next week's Champions League dead-rubber with Midtjylland seems a more realistic return date.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Xherdan Shaqiri is once again on the treatment table after picking up a muscle injury on international duty last month. The extent of the damage is yet to be confirmed, but he has not featured since the problem was discovered.

Alisson Becker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 13 (vs. Fulham)

Alisson's latest layoff could prove to be a major blow for Liverpool. Klopp expects the Brazilian goalkeeper to be out for "10 to 14 days", meaning that he will definitely miss the games with Wolves and Midtjylland.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this Premier League meeting.
