Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has slammed a banner flown over Anfield calling for Brendan Rodgers to be sacked as "embarrassing".
Ahead of the Reds' meeting with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, a plane was widely reported to have flown over Anfield with a message that read: "Rodgers Out Rafa In", in refernece to former manager Rafael Benitez.
The banner was not the work of the club's supporters, according to the Liverpool Echo, but Carragher was critical of the plans ahead of his trip to see his former side.
The ex-defender tweeted: "About to leave for Anfield, hope this Rodgers banner supposedly flying over the ground is called off as it's embarrassing to club & fans."
Carragher retired in 2013 after 737 appearances for the Reds.
