Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has criticised the role that James Perch played in Pepe Reina's red card at the Sports Direct Arena this afternoon.
Goalkeeper Reina appeared to clash heads with Newcastle United's Perch, resulting in the defender falling to the floor holding his face.
Reina was dismissed by referee Martin Atkinson for his part in the incident, while Perch was handed a yellow card.
Johnson, who is currently on the sidelines with a leg injury, has described Perch as a "joke".
"What have I just seen? Is Perch for real?! Joke," the England international wrote on Twitter.
The match ended in a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
