Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes that the club's extra-time win over Notts County in the League Cup has kept up the Reds' momentum ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester United.
The 23-year-old scored the winner in last night's 4-2 victory over the League One outfit, despite looking like they could be booted out of the competition in the second round after relinquishing a 2-0 lead.
"I think it's important for midfielders to chip in with some goals," Henderson told the club's official website. "So if I can do that it will be brilliant. But the most important thing is contributing to the team.
"It was very a important win to keep that momentum going. We've made a good start and another win takes us onto the game against Manchester United."
Liverpool have a 100% record in the Premier League so far following their victories over Stoke City and Aston Villa.
