Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has offered his sympathies to Fabinho following the tragic news of his father's death.
The Brazilian midfielder's wife Rebeca Tavares confirmed the sad news on social media on Friday morning, which led to an outpouring of tributes from Liverpool fans.
Klopp briefly discussed the midfielder's situation ahead of Saturday's Premier League encounter with Burnley, but the German did not confirm whether he would be in contention to face the Clarets this weekend.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, the Liverpool boss said: "It's a private situation. Fab is here and he's doing what he's able to do.
"We all feel with him, we gave him and his family our condolences and tried to give him all the love and warmth we have in this moment. That's it. The rest is private."
Meanwhile, Klopp has been able to issue a positive update on Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara, who are "much closer" to returning to first-team action.
