Brendan Rodgers has said that Liverpool "gave the control back to Everton" in the second half of this afternoon's 3-3 Merseyside derby draw.
Liverpool were 2-1 up at half time, but two Romelu Lukaku goals seemed to have given Everton all three points before Daniel Sturridge equalised with a minute to go.
"We went up to 2-1 and then had a great chance to go 3-1, but unfortunately we didn't," Rodgers told BBC Sport.
"After that we gave the ball away for too easily, which is understandable sometimes but not as often as we did.
"We needed to be better than that and control the game better, but we gave the control back to Everton."
The result means that Liverpool missed the chance to go top of the Premier League.
