Liverpool have been held to a 1-1 draw by a Malaysia XI at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia XI began the game brightly and it took them just 11 minutes to open the scoring as Patrick Ronaldinho got the better of Dejan Lovren before finishing coolly past goalkeeper Adam Bogdan.
Lovren almost redeemed himself with a glancing header that went wide, but shortly before the half-hour mark, Liverpool levelled through Jordon Ibe, who cut inside from the flank before drilling a left-footed effort into the corner from 18 yards.
Shortly before the break, Divock Origi twice came close to putting the Merseyside outfit in front, but after first seeing a shot palmed away, he saw a header comfortably claimed by the goalkeeper.
The Premier League side returned for the second half on the front foot, but Adam Lallana and Origi both saw efforts kept out by Khairul Azhan Khalid, before Lallana struck the woodwork with a deflected shot from the edge of the box.
With 20 minutes left, a shot from Origi just missed the post before James Milner could only fire at Azhan after being found inside the penalty area.
To their credit, Malaysia finished the match well and despite failing to make the most of two opportunities from close range, they could still celebrate an impressive result against a strong Liverpool side.
