Jurgen Klopp has suggested that "ambitious" Liverpool will spend big this summer in order to remain competitive next season.
The Reds fell just short in pursuit of their first Premier League title last time out, finishing a point behind champions Manchester City.
Liverpool went all the way in the Champions League to soften the blow of missing out on domestic honours, though, and they have been tipped to rival City once again in 2019-20.
Klopp is believed to be eyeing a number of players, including Ousmane Dembele and Bruno Fernandes, and the German is confident that he will be backed over the remaining two months of the window.
"Liverpool is an ambitious club and if we didn't spend the same amount of money as others, we wouldn't be able to compete," he told ZDF. "Everybody's splashing the cash, so we have to do the same."
Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno were both released by Liverpool earlier this month.
