Liverpool are reportedly not interested in signing Newcastle United youngster Yankuba Minteh this summer.
Minteh registered four goals and six assists in 17 appearances for Danish side Odense, before he completed a £6.5m move to Newcastle in the last summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old was immediately sent on loan to Dutch giants Feyenoord, where he gained valuable game time to aid his development.
Minteh made 37 competitive during his time in the Netherlands, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists.
The Gambia international also claimed a piece of major silverware in his career, collecting a KVNB Beker winners' medal despite being sent off in the 1-0 final victory over NEC Nijmegen.
Liverpool decide against Minteh move
Although he is set to return to Newcastle, The Telegraph recently reported that Liverpool had expressed an interest in signing Minteh.
There was a suggestion that Liverpool were keen to reunite Minteh with Arne Slot after the two worked together at Feyenoord last season.
The Dutchman is said to be a huge admirer of the highly-rated talent, believing that he has all the ingredients to become one of the best young forwards in Europe.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds currently have no interest in launching a move for Minteh this summer.
While Slot remains a fan of the attacker, Liverpool are believed to be considering other options in the search for a winger.
Minteh heading towards Newcastle exit
A move to Liverpool may be unlikely, but there is still a possibility that Minteh could leave St James' Park without making a senior appearance for the Magpies.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is keen to evaluate Minteh in pre-season, but the club are willing to entertain offers due to their concerns over the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
There have been rumours that the Magpies could have to sell the likes of Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak to raise necessary funds.
However, it would be easier to avoid selling either of those two players if they can secure a considerable fee for Minteh.
The Magpies have set the youngster's asking price in the region of £40m amid interest from clubs in Italy and Germany.
Newcastle are in a relatively strong negotiating position, with Minteh under contract until the summer of 2028.
