Liverpool have reportedly offered Mamadou Sakho a new long-term contract in a bid to warn off potential suitors.
The French defender has been overlooked by manager Brendan Rodgers in the first two games of the season as he has opted to partner Dejan Lovren with Martin Skrtel at the back.
Roma and Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with moves for the 25-year-old, but according to the Daily Star, Rodgers is keen to tie the centre-back down to a new deal.
Sakho, who moved to Anfield from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, has two years remaining on his current contract.
