Roma are reportedly planning to make a late move for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.
The Giallorossi were believed to be interested in the 30-year-old Croatian international earlier this summer, but talks failed to materialise.
However, after seeing a bid for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani rejected, Paulo Fonseca's side are now planning to make a late move for the former Lyon defender, who has made 170 appearances in all competitions for the Reds since joining in 2014.
Corriere dello sport reports that Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is set to make a concrete offer for Lovren later this week that would see the defender move to the Italian capital on loan for this season with an option for a permanent deal in 2020.
The former Southampton defender, who had a groin problem last season, is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp's team in this campaign, with the German favouring Joel Matip as Virgil van Dijk's partner at the heart of the defence.
