St Johnstone have held Luzern to a goalless half-time draw in their second-round Europa League qualifier in Switzerland this evening.
The Swiss outfit started the better of both sides but it took some 23 minutes to seriously threaten as goalkeeper Alan Mannus tipped a goal-bound effort narrowly over the bar.
Tommy Wright's troops flirted with concession again minutes later as the width of the woodwork kept St Johnstone on level terms by the slimmest of margins.
However, the Scottish Premiership side recovered and came close to opening the scoring themselves after the half-hour mark.
David Wotherspoon played in Dave Mackay but the defender could not beat stopper David Zibung. Nevertheless, Mackay made amends later in the half by producing a heroic goal-line clearance to keep the scores level at the break.
