Malaga boss Bernd Schuster believes that Real Betis will provide a stern test for his side in La Liga on Monday evening.
Malaga currently sit 14th in the table, 10 points ahead of bottom-place Betis with eight games of the campaign remaining.
"We know it'll be a tough match with the bottom club. Many things have gone against them this year but they have a crowd that never gives in," Schuster told reporters at a press conference.
"We still hope to catch the teams above us. There are a lot of points left. It's important we start the game well. We want to show our teeth, have pressure in attack and be good in defence.
"We want to control Betis, otherwise their fans will really get behind them. We have to be focused. It's going to be a good game and we have to take risks.
"It's terrible that we're near the bottom. We have to get higher and we trust ourselves to do it."
Malaga are just two points outside of the relegation zone.
