Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Leicester City.

Manchester City welcome Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday knowing that even victory would not see them leapfrog the high-flying Foxes in the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola's champions are currently four points behind their weekend opponents, although the match does give them an opportunity to close the gap on leaders Liverpool to 11.

Man City go into the game off the back of a 3-1 win over Oxford United which set up a Manchester derby in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, and another meeting with Leicester could potentially await in the final.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's showdown.

Leroy Sane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Speculation over Leroy Sane's future continues to rage, but the winger is not expected back on the field until February of next year after damaging knee ligaments during the Community Shield.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Aymeric Laporte revealed at the beginning of December that he is hopeful of returning from his own long-term knee problem within two months, having been absent since August.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 21 (vs. Leicester)

Sergio Aguero is now back out on the grass after his thigh injury and should return to full-team training in the coming days, meaning that he could play some part in this weekend's showdown.

David Silva

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: December 21 (vs. Leicester)

David Silva narrowly fell short of being ready for the EFL Cup clash with Oxford, but Pep Guardiola revealed that the Spaniard should return to training ahead of the Leicester match and he is expected to be available to feature in some capacity this weekend.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 27 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

This weekend's match will come too soon for John Stones, who has been ruled out for "a few weeks" after picking up a thigh injury in the Manchester derby.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match, but Rodri, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva are all one booking away from a ban.
