Pep Guardiola: 'England a special place'

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola brands England "a special place" after celebrating his team's Premier League title success on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola branded England "a special place" after celebrating his team's Premier League title success at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

City won the title in the middle of last month, but had to wait until Sunday to parade the trophy to their supporters.

The ceremony followed a goalless draw with Huddersfield Town, and Guardiola has insisted that his team "can do better" as they look forward to "the challenge" of retaining the championship next season.

"England is a special place and is so tough. Today we saw it. You never know if you are going to win, but I had no doubt what I had to do," Guardiola told Sky Sports News.

"You win or lose, you have to try and do what you believe. Today was proof we can do better, 11 players were playing in the Premier League. We lost a bit of focus, but that is normal. To make back-to-back titles in this league will be tough, but we accept the challenge."

City will take on Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton in their final two Premier League matches of the 2017-18 campaign.
