Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that summer signing Erling Braut Haaland could make his debut for the club in their pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
The 22-year-old striker, who has joined the Citizens for £51m from Borussia Dortmund, was named as an unused substitute in the 2-1 friendly win over Club America on Thursday.
Fellow new signings Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez and Stefan Ortega all made their debuts against the Mexican outfit, however, and they are expected to feature again against their German counterparts in Wisconsin.
Kevin De Bruyne scored a brace in the victory over Club America, and the Belgian playmaker could be handed another start in centre-midfield alongside Rodri and Bernardo Silva.
Joao Cancelo – who has recently been handed the No.7 shirt following Raheem Sterling's departure to Chelsea – is the only senior left-back option available to Guardiola at present, with Oleksandr Zinchenko on the verge of joining Arsenal.
Ruben Dias is doubtful due to illness which kept him out of Thursday's friendly, and with John Stones training in Croatia and Aymeric Laporte injured, Nathan Ake could again be partnered at centre-back by academy graduate Luke Mbete.
City will also be without Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan who, like Stones, are training with the club's Under-23s squad in Croatia after failing to meet the USA entry requirements.
The likes of Kyle Walker, Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish will all be hoping to retain their places in the first XI, while Ederson will be looking to start between the sticks ahead of Ortega.
Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Mbete, Ake, Cancelo; Bernardo, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish
