Barcelona are making progress in their efforts to bring Raheem Sterling to Camp Nou on loan from Manchester City, according to a report.
The England international has revealed that he is open to a departure from the Etihad after Pep Guardiola admitted that he could not guarantee starts for the out-of-favour attacker.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly wants to reunite with Sterling at the Emirates, but Barcelona are thought to be at the head of the queue for his signature.
According to Mundo Deportivo, a loan deal for Sterling in January is 'growing more likely' as Ousmane Dembele runs down his deal with the Blaugrana.
The report adds that Barcelona could now decide against offering Dembele a new contract, in spite of Joan Laporta's insistence that the Frenchman wants to stay at the club.
Sterling has only amassed one goal and one assist from 10 games across all tournaments this term, starting just two Premier League games in the 2021-22 season so far.
