Bayern Munich are reportedly still hopeful of completing a deal for Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane before the January transfer window closes for business.
The Bundesliga giants were strongly linked with Sane over the summer, but the proposed move fell through when the Germany international suffered a serious knee injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool.
Sane now has less than 18 months on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and it has been claimed that the Premier League champions are still hopeful that he might sign an extension.
However, according to Bild, Bayern are working behind the scenes in a bid to complete a deal for the attacker before the end of the transfer window.
Sane has been on the sidelines since undergoing surgery on his torn ACL but is believed to be closing in on a return having stepped up his recovery in recent weeks.
The German has managed 39 goals and 45 assists in 134 appearances for the Citizens since arriving from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2016.
