Manchester City have reportedly stepped up their interest in Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
Ruiz has made a positive impact since making the switch to the Italian giants in 2018, contributing eight goals from 50 appearances in all competitions.
The form of the Spaniard has led to interest back in his homeland, most notably from Barcelona and Real Madrid who are said to be considering an offer next year.
However, according to The Guardian, City are also big admirers of Ruiz, which led to scouts being present at Napoli's Champions League encounter with Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.
Ruiz played the full 90 minutes as Napoli recorded a 3-2 victory over their hosts on Austrian soil, boosting their chances of qualifying for the last 16 of the competition.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has recently suggested that he would only consider selling Ruiz if an interested team were prepared to pay in the region of £160m.
