Manchester City are reportedly considering making a move for Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho, with Newcastle United also interested.

Manchester City have reportedly added Philippe Coutinho to their list of transfer targets.

The Brazilian has struggled to make his mark at Barcelona since joining from Liverpool in January 2018 and has only started three La Liga games so far this season.

With the Catalan outfit still facing financial problems, they may look to sell Coutinho in the January transfer window.

El Nacional claims that the midfielder's next destination could be Man City, as he is "precisely the profile" of player that Pep Guardiola is looking for.

The report adds that Barcelona would be willing to accept €30m (£25.3m) for Coutinho, with Newcastle United also interested in signing him following the completion of their Saudi-backed takeover.

The 29-year-old scored 54 goals in 201 appearances for Liverpool in his previous spell in England and was named in the 2014-15 PFA Team of the Year.
