Alvaro Negredo is reportedly willing to take a drop in wages in order to secure a move from Manchester City to Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish champions have been linked with the 28-year-old, who is believed to be keen to leave the Etihad Stadium due to a lack of regular football.
The forward netted 26 goals in his debut season for the Premier League champions, but was often placed behind Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in the pecking order towards the end of the campaign.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Negredo is open to lowering his salary in order to move to the Vicente Calderon to play for Atletico, who are searching for a replacement for Chelsea-bound Diego Costa.
Reports have claimed that the Primera Division side could lodge an offer of £18m for the striker.
