Jadon Sancho scored his first Manchester United goal on Tuesday night, as the Red Devils booked their spot in the knockout round of the Champions League with a 2-0 victory at Villarreal.
The 21-year-old has struggled to make his mark for the 20-time English champions since arriving in a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund over the summer.
Sancho had gone 14 games without a goal or an assist for his new club heading into Tuesday's match with Villarreal, but the England international was selected in Michael Carrick's first XI.
The former Manchester City attacker netted Man United's second in the 90th minute, expertly finding the back of the net with a thumping strike after a clever touch from Bruno Fernandes.
The goal made sure of the points for the visitors after Cristiano Ronaldo had opened the scoring in the 78th minute by lifting the ball over Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.
Sancho, who scored 50 times and registered 64 assists in 137 outings during his time at Dortmund, will now be hoping to start a third straight game for the Red Devils against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday. body check tags ::
