Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup believes that the Champions League referee who sent off Manchester United winger Nani during the Red Devils' exit from the competition made the wrong decision.
The former Premier League champions succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid on Tuesday following match official Cuneyt Cakir's decision to show Nani a red card for a high challenge on Alvaro Arbeloa.
"A yellow card maybe, but a red card? Absolutely not," Laudrup said in a press conference. "I don't think it matters whether it's a referee in the Premier League, La Liga or a Champions League game.
"It was just a bad decision. Referees are human and make mistakes, there is no problem with that, and sometimes it goes against you."
Meanwhile, United defender Rio Ferdinand has escaped disciplinary action from UEFA for sarcastically clapping his hands in Cakir's face on the final whistle.
