PSV Eindhoven boss Phillip Cocu has insisted that his side are "not afraid" of facing Manchester United in tonight's Group B clash in the Champions League.
The Dutch side will face their former player Memphis Depay at the Philips Stadion, but they will not have to form a plan to stop Wayne Rooney as the striker is out injured.
United have been absent from the elite competition for a year, but manager Louis van Gaal steered them back into the competition with a fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
"We are not afraid of Manchester United," Cocu told reporters. "I think we should respect each opponent, but we are not afraid of Manchester United.
"We have no intention of throwing in the towel before we even get started. On the contrary, we want to make the most of this opportunity."
After five games in the Eredivisie, PSV are currently fourth in the table.
