Raphael Varane and Rasmus Hojlund have both returned to the Manchester United side for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

The 20-time English champions need to beat Bayern and then hope that the section's other match between Copenhagen and Galatasaray is a draw in order to progress to the round of 16.

Varane has recently been overlooked for starts, but he comes back into the XI for this contest, featuring alongside Harry Maguire in the middle, with Luke Shaw starting at left-back.

Hojlund also comes back into the side at centre-forward, with Anthony Martial dropping out.

Martial is unwell, as is Marcus Rashford, with both players missing training on Monday, and neither are in the squad, with Facundo Pellistri and Joe Hugill the attacking options in reserve.

Sofyan Amrabat features in central midfield alongside Scott McTominay, with Bruno Fernandes, who is suspended against Liverpool this weekend, starting in an attacking area.

Antony and Alejandro Garnacho also both start for the 20-time English champions, who suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

As for Bayern, Harry Kane features at the tip of the attack, while Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman are also in a very talented forward-line.

There is no Serge Gnabry through injury, but the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are available and start, with head coach Thomas Tuchel naming a strong XI despite the fact that his side are already through to the round of 16 as section winners.
