Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has several injury doubts ahead of AC Milan's visit on Thursday, with Marcus Rashford having limped off early during Sunday's Manchester derby due to an ankle injury and fellow forward Edinson Cavani missing the top-of-the-table clash after aggravating an injury in training last week.
Rashford has not suffered ligament damage after injuring his ankle in the 2-0 win, but post-match scans revealed bruising around the England forward's ankle and he is not likely to be part of the squad.
Donny van de Beek - a former Europa League finalist with Ajax - has not been fit to feature in any of the last five matches and remains out of action, while Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Phil Jones are all expected to miss out too.
Goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly still in Spain following the birth of his first child, leaving Dean Henderson to keep his place in the United goal. The former Sheffield United loanee played in both legs at the last-32 stage and the recent Premier League meetings with Crystal Palace and City - keeping clean sheets on all four occasions.
Anthony Martial returned from a knee injury last week - putting in a much-improved performance but also missing a sitter - and the Frenchman may well keep his spot in the XI, given the injury issues of both Cavani and Rashford.
Continuing his recent run of selections, Welsh winger Daniel James should also profit from others' absences to earn another start.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Greenwood, Fernandes, James; Cavani
