Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the Manchester United attack in Thursday's Europa League contest with Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova.

The 37-year-old has only stated once in the Premier League this season, with Marcus Rashford viewed as Erik ten Hag's first choice through the middle.

Ronaldo started against Real Sociedad in the Europa League last week, though, and he is again in the side here, with Rashford not making the trip to Moldova due to a muscular problem.

Ten Hag has selected his first-choice back four, with Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia in the full-back positions, while Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez feature in the middle.

Ahead of them, there is still no start for Casemiro, with Scott McTominay again operating alongside Christian Eriksen in the middle.

Antony will play off the right, while Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes will also play behind Ronaldo, who has not scored in his last eight appearances for the 20-time English champions.

Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have both been named in the latest England squad, but the pair are on the bench here alongside the likes of Casemiro, Fred, Anthony Elanga and Alejandro Garnacho.

MANCHESTER UNITED: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Eriksen, McTominay, Fernandes; Antony, Ronaldo, Sancho

Bench: Heaton, Vitek, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Iqbal, Elanga, Garnacho, McNeill body check tags ::
