Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

:Headline: Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United.
Sports Mole

Still capable of bidding farewell to Liverpool with a magnificent quadruple, Jurgen Klopp will man the Old Trafford touchline on Sunday, when the Reds face Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Arsenal, Norwich City and Southampton have already fallen to Liverpool's superiority in the competition this season, with the Saints succumbing to goals from Jayden Danns and Lewis Koumas in round five.

Klopp's men travel to their bitter rivals on the back of a 6-1 Europa League last-16 second-leg crushing of Sparta Prague, which sealed an extraordinary 11-2 aggregate triumph en route to the quarter-finals.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with Man United, who got the better of Nottingham Forest in their last cup outing.

Bobby Clark

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Man United)

After scoring his first senior goal for Liverpool in Thursday's success over Sparta, Bobby Clark came off in the second half with what appeared to be an ankle issue, but Klopp is hopeful that the teenager will shake off the problem quickly.

Ryan Gravenberch

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Man United)

Ryan Gravenbech - who left the EFL Cup final on a stretcher due to his own ankle issue - was back in training before the second-leg win over Sparta Prague, and the Reds boss is also confident that the Dutchman will be fine for the weekend too.

Diogo Jota

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Diogo Jota saw his outing at Brentford on February 17 cut short due to a serious knee injury, which will keep the Portugal international sidelined until the middle of April at the earliest.

Ibrahima Konate

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 17 (vs. Man United)

Ibrahima Konate has missed the Reds' last two games with the thigh issue he picked up in the first leg against Sparta Prague, and on Friday, Klopp admitted that the Frenchman was losing his race to be fit for the quarter-final.

Curtis Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shin
Possible return date: March 31 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Despite previous optimism that he would be back before the international break, Curtis Jones's shin problem is still giving him grief, and the midfielder remains out of action for the time being.

Alisson Becker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

First-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker will not be involved at Old Trafford owing to his troubling hamstring problem, although Caoimhin Kelleher continues to excel in place of the Brazil international.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 31 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been out of action since injuring his knee against Burnley on February 10, but there is optimism that the right-back might make a full recovery during the international break.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Thiago Alcantara's injury-disrupted season took another cruel turn in February, when he picked up a muscle issue against Arsenal after 10 months out with a hip concern, and Klopp is not sure if the soon-to-be free agent will play again this season.

Ben Doak

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

While plenty of Liverpool's young stars have shone in 2024, Ben Doak has not been one of them, as the Scottish attacker is nursing a serious knee injury with no timeframe on his recovery.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Similarly, Joel Matip has been unable to contribute to the Reds' success in 2024 due to the ACL injury which he picked up against Fulham in December, which will rule him out for the rest of the campaign.

Stefan Bajcetic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Stefan Bajcetic is now training pain-free after a long-term calf injury, but he is yet to resume practice with his teammates, and Klopp still does not know when he will get the green light to do so.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
