Darren Fletcher is hopeful that Manchester United's hard-fought 2-0 win over Yeovil Town can prove the first victory in an FA Cup-winning season.
Ander Herrera broke the Glovers' resistance at Huish Park on 64 minutes before Angel di Maria secured a narrow win over the League One outfit.
United have not won the competition since 2004, and Fletcher hopes that today's third-round victory is the first stop on the road to cup success.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy," he told BT Sport. "You have to battle before you can win the match.
"We battled and then Ander scored a fantastic goal and sometimes that is what it takes.
"We're in the draw for the next round and it's been too long since Manchester United won this competition."
The Red Devils beat Millwall in the final of the tournament 11 years ago.
