Sports Mole runs through the top-scoring trios in world football.

The majority of football across the globe is currently at a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak, but there is still a hope that clubs can complete their 2019-20 campaigns in the coming months.

A number of top-level players had been enjoying impressive seasons before play was called to a halt, though, and with that in mind, Sports Mole has taken a look at the top-scoring trios in world football for 2019-20.

There are a number of familiar names on the list, but there are also some largely unknown players towards the top of the selection, and the top two trios will certainly come as a surprise to many.

Flamengo trio Gabriel Barbosa, Bruno Henrique and Giorgian de Arrascaeta are actually at the top of the selection with 74 goals between them. Barbosa managed 34, Henrique 26, while De Arrascaeta chipped in with 14 for the Brazilian outfit, who are two goals clear of the second trio on the list.

Estonian outfit Flora currently occupy the position behind Flamengo, with Erik Sorga (44), Herol Riiberg (16) and Konstantin Vassiljev (12) combining for 72 goals. Sorga, who is just 20 years of age, has actually scored a stunning 78 goals in 91 outings for his current side, which is an incredible record.

MLS team Los Angeles FC are third in the list with Carlos Vela, Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande managing 68 goals between them for the 2019-20. Vela, once of Arsenal, chipped in with 38, while Rossi and Diomande have managed 30 between them, putting them level as a trio with Paris Saint-Germain's front three.

Indeed, Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Neymar have managed 68 goals between them in all competitions this season. Mbappe leads the list with 30, Icardi has 20, while Neymar has 18; they are perhaps the first truly recognisable trio in this selection, just ahead of Bayern Munich in fifth.

Robert Lewandowski (39), Serge Gnabry (18) and Thomas Muller (10) have 67 goals between them, just ahead of Celtic's Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and James Forrest, who have combined for 62 goals this term.

Manchester City and Red Bull Salzburg's trios have managed 61 goals each, with Sergio Aguero (23), Raheem Sterling (20) and Gabriel Jesus (18) all enjoying impressive campaigns in the final third.

Erling Braut Haaland's 28 goals for Salzburg see them high up the list, while Scottish giants Rangers are actually 12th as Alfredo Morelos (29), Jermain Defoe (17) and Scott Arfield (9) have 55 goals between them this season.

Barcelona are down in 17th with Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez combining for 52 goals, the same as Red Bull Leipzig, largely due to the form of Timo Werner, who has 27 goals in all competitions alone.

Liverpool are interestingly only 25th on the list with Mohamed Salah (20), Sadio Mane (18) and Roberto Firmino (11) managing just 49 goals between them for the European champions, which is somewhat of a surprise considering their success this season.

Marcus Rashford (19), Anthony Martial (16) and Mason Greenwood (12) have combined for 47 goals to leave Manchester United in 27th, while Juventus are down in 33rd with Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain registering 46 goals as a three during the 2019-20 campaign.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are 44th with Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty combining for 44 goals, while Inter Milan are surprisingly right down in 50th despite Romelu Lukaku (23) and Lautaro Martinez (16) enjoying impressive seasons. Indeed, the Italian's outfit's third-highest goalscorer is Antonio Candreva, who has only managed four goals in all competitions this term.

Tottenham Hotspur are just outside of the top 50 in 53rd, meanwhile, with Harry Kane (17), Son Heung-min (16) and Dele Alli (9) only managing 42 goals between them during the current season.
