Manchester United will be bidding to make it back-to-back wins under interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy when they take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils recorded a 5-2 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday night in the last-16 stage of the EFL Cup, with Van Nistelrooy making a winning start to his tenure after replacing Erik ten Hag at the helm.

The 20-time English champions will now switch their attention back to the league, and a disappointing 2024-25 campaign to date has left them down in 14th spot in the Premier League table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Chelsea, who currently sit in fifth spot in the division, boasting 17 points from their first nine games of the season.

Leny Yoro

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Arsenal)

Yoro will be out until at least the start of December due to the fractured metatarsal that he suffered during a pre-season clash with Arsenal, with his debut for the club potentially coming against the Gunners in the Premier League.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia missed the entire 2023-24 season due to a serious knee injury which required two separate operations, and the left-back is still not ready to return, but he is now back in full training and should be available before the end of the year.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Shaw has been absent early in the season due to a calf problem, and the left-back is still not ready to feature, with Ten Hag revealing ahead of his departure that the Englishman has had a setback in his recovery.

Kobbie Mainoo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: November 10 (vs. Leicester)

Mainoo is currently on the sidelines with a muscular problem, but the England international has a strong chance of being available for selection in the team's final match ahead of the November international break.

Mason Mount

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Mount has not featured since the end of September due to an unspecified issue, and the Englishman is still not training with the Red Devils, so he will again be unavailable for selection against Chelsea.

Antony

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Antony was stretchered off the field in the latter stages of Man United's recent Champions League clash with Fenerbahce, and he has missed the last two against West Ham United and Leicester. The extent of the issue is still unclear, but the Brazil international will not be available for Van Nistelrooy's side on Sunday afternoon.

Harry Maguire

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: November 10 (vs. Leicester)

Maguire remains on the treatment table with a muscular problem, but there is a slight chance that the centre-back could make his return before the November international break against former club Leicester.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the Premier League clash.
