Manchester United confirm Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund suffered knee and muscular issues respectively against Luton Town.

Manchester United have revealed that Christian Eriksen is facing a month on the sidelines with a knee injury, while Rasmus Hojlund has a muscle strain but could potentially return in time for the team's next match.

Eriksen was withdrawn in the first half of the clash with Luton Town on Saturday afternoon after damaging his knee, while Hojlund departed the field in the latter stages of the 1-0 win due to a muscular problem.

On Monday, it was announced that both players had withdrawn from the Denmark squad for the country's final two Euro 2024 qualification matches.

Man United have now provided an update on the pair, with Eriksen set to be missing for the next month, while Hojlund has a muscular strain, but the latter has not yet been ruled out of the clash with Everton after the international break.

In a statement, the Red Devils said that the 20-year-old could be back "before the end of November", with the team next in action against Everton on November 26.

"Manchester United has issued an injury update on Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund, following their withdrawal from Denmark's squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Christian has a knee injury that is set to keep him out for around a month, while striker Rasmus suffered a muscle strain. It is hoped he will return before the end of November."

Hojlund is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League this season, drawing another blank against Luton, but he has scored five times in the Champions League.

If the Dane is not available against Everton, the club will hope that he can return against Galatasaray on November 29, with the 20-time English champions facing a must-win European contest with the Turkish giants.

Eriksen, meanwhile, has again been a regular for the Red Devils this season, making 15 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists in the process.

The experienced midfielder is set to miss the games against Everton and Galatasaray before the end of the month, in addition to league matches in December against Newcastle United, Chelsea and Bournemouth.

However, there is a chance that he could return for the Champions League game at home to Bayern Munich on December 12, which comes ahead of a trip to Liverpool in the league.

Man United face being without as many as nine players for the clash with Everton, with Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia also injured.

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is still not involved with the first team following his fall-out with head coach Erik ten Hag, which is expected to lead to him leaving during the January transfer window. body check tags ::
