Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has ruled both Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw out of Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first leg with Sevilla.
On Wednesday morning, Man United released a statement revealing that Rashford would be out for 'a few games' with the injury that he suffered against Everton at the weekend.
Ten Hag was asked for a further update on the Englishman during his press conference on Wednesday afternoon but could not provide any more details in terms of a timeframe.
"A few games, so that's the statement. I can't give more details on it because we don't know. We'll have to see it how it develops," said the Dutchman when asked about Rashford's absence.
"It's a setback and he's disappointed, but he's not totally broke because he will return quickly. He's started his rehab and that helps to get back soon."
Shaw, meanwhile, missed out against Everton on Saturday due to a hamstring issue that he suffered last week against Brentford, and the defender remains unavailable for selection.
Ten Hag is expecting to have the left-back available again in the near future, though, claiming that the injury is not as "severe" as the one suffered by Alejandro Garnacho.
"Both not available. Definitely the injury of Garnacho is more severe, but I expect Luke Shaw back on shorter notice," said the Dutchman when asked about Shaw and Garnacho.
Shaw could therefore potentially return against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, but Garnacho is likely to be out until the end of the month.
Donny van de Beek is also currently unavailable for Man United, with the midfielder out for the remainder of the season due to the knee injury that he picked up at the start of January.
Tom Heaton is still missing with an ankle injury, but the Red Devils will welcome Casemiro back into their squad, and the Brazil international will be fresh following his four-game domestic suspension.
Christian Eriksen, meanwhile, made his return from an ankle injury against Everton on Saturday afternoon, with the Denmark international also in contention to start.
Rashford's absence is likely to lead to fit-again Anthony Martial starting through the middle against Sevilla, while Tyrell Malacia should continue at left-back in the absence of Shaw.
Man United will be bidding to secure a positive result on Thursday evening ahead of the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final with Sevilla at Estadio Ramon next week.
