Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that neither Lisandro Martinez nor Casemiro are likely to be available for selection before Christmas.
Martinez has not featured for the Red Devils since the middle of September, having undergone an operation on the foot injury that he initially suffered back in April.
The 25-year-old's surgery earlier this year failed to fully address the issue, and he has therefore undergone the knife once again in the hope that the problem can be fixed.
Casemiro, meanwhile, picked up a hamstring injury during the first half of Man United's 3-0 loss to Newcastle United in the EFL Cup last week.
A statement from the Red Devils revealed that the midfielder would be out for 'several weeks', and Ten Hag has admitted that neither player is expected to be back this side of Christmas.
"I have some time schedules, but it's always difficult to expect that because they can have setbacks during rehab periods," Ten Hag told reporters during his press conference on Tuesday, with the team currently in Denmark preparing for their Champions League clash with Copenhagen.
"Casemiro and Martinez are really strong injuries, I don't expect them back before Christmas."
Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo are also on the sidelines through injury, while Jadon Sancho is still not being considered for selection due to his falling-out with Ten Hag.
However, it has been confirmed that both Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire are available to take on Copenhagen, while Victor Lindelof is also in the travelling squad.
Rashford was not involved against Fulham on Saturday afternoon due to a knock to the leg that he suffered during a training session towards the end of last week.
Maguire picked up a heavy blow to his face in the early stages of the game with Marco Silva's side, meanwhile, which led to him being checked on two different occasions during the match.
"Marcus is 100% ready," Ten Hag added when asked about the Englishman. "Harry did all the protocols during the game and after the game. He is ready to play."
Man United are currently third in Group A, one point behind second-placed Galatasaray and six behind runaway section leaders Bayern Munich.
The 20-time English champions will take on Galatasaray (A) and Bayern Munich (H) in their final two group matches, while they will be back in Premier League action this weekend at home to Luton Town. body check tags ::
